ProjectEDGE is a client server and Internet browser-based extranet application for managing a program of store expansions or renovations. Through its multiple forms of secure access, ProjectEDGE can be used by personnel in the retailer’s offices as well as by mobile field representatives, architects, engineers and contractors to do business in one common database to the extent of their authorized use. Wherever users and team members are located, they can still get their jobs done. Users can work on-line and off-line in instances where intranet connection is not available. Additionally, team members can be alerted of need for their action via email, palm pilot, and messaging when others have notified them or the system has notified them based on work flow instructions and their responsibilities within the process.
